When people ask what I stand for, I answer "Freedom!" The Libertarian
Party was founded on that principle. Freedom has two major components:
individual liberty and personal responsibility. This means that
you have the liberty, or freedom, to live your life how you choose and be
responsible for the consequences. This is a dramatic contrast to what
Democrats and Republicans promote: more big government. They think
government should be able to spend your money and tell you how to live your
life. They also think it's government's job to take care of every little
detail of life for you. Unfortunately, government doesn't do a very
good job of taking care of us.
With every issue, I believe we should set our sights on increasing the
freedom of every American to keep what they earn, free from taxes, and live
how we choose.
There are many more issues than I could ever have time to write about.
Fortunately, other Libertarians have gone before me and have written
about the issues far better than I could have. Instead of redoing
their work, I'll simply point you to it. The issues page at the Libertarian Party website deals with many issues
such as Taxes, Social Security,
Education, National Defense
and a host of others.
